AUDIOLICKS

The AudioLicks presented here are the audio version of the licks offered in three volumes of the book series “Modal Improvisation and Melodic Construction in the Flamenco Environment”.

These licks, although they come with guitar fingerings in the book, are destined for any musical instrument. They are structured in the order of their difficulty and complexity, starting with very simple melodies in Ionian mode, that become progressively more complex. The harmonization offered here is optional, which means that each lick can be completely re-harmonized according to the personal preference of each student. The rhythm suggested here is that of the rumba with its straight-forward feel of 4/4. More complicated flamenco rhythms will be be presented further in this course.
